Dear canoe friends,
We mean twinning as an chance for friendship and culture and sport exchanges.
Our proposal is:
* Letting the different realities be known with a small presentation published on the website.
* Promoting mutual knowledge and exchanges by following each other on social media.
* Offering to the members who visit the clubs the same treatments as the members themselves (ex. access to club rooms, showers, boats)
* Organizing trips with logistical support.
* Organizing training facilities and venues for athletes.
The Circolo Amici del Fiume Sport Club can offer to the members of the sister society:
_ Use of the club facilities, with bathrooms, dressing rooms, showers and gymnasium with accessibility for disabled people.
_ Boat and trailer storage.
_ Use of tourist boats or lean of racing boats, to enjoy the day or paddling on the Po River (after skills assessment).
_ Cafeteria and restaurant inside the club.
Wassersport Verein Rheine, Rheine, Germania
The Wassersportverein Rheine 1932 e.V. is a canoeing club located in Rheine at the River Ems. The club has its own boathouse for the members. The three main groups are the youth section with its three subgroups racing, hiking-youth, and whitewater, the hiking section, and the women’s section.
The boathouse has all the facilities that active canoeists need: a large boat park with many different types of boats, a club room for events and courses, and a large area for a wide variety of occasions and activities.
The WSV’s program is balanced and tailored to the diverse needs of our members. We offer not only canoeing, but also other activities such as hiking, cycling, and much more. With such a large membership, there are like-minded people for every activity. Nevertheless, canoeing remains the main focus, which proves our diversity.
Växjö Kanot Club, Växjö, Svezia
The Växjö Kanot Club (VKC) is the only canoe club of the small town of Växjö in Southern Sweden. The clubhouse is located in the recreational area of Evedal, close to the beautiful lake ‘Helgasjön’ (GPS 56.921521187445464, 14.824679015888606). Founded in 1963, the VKC initially focused on sprint kayak and canoe only to whom the club offers training sessions several days a week, divided into four different training groups based on skill level and age. Subsequently, the club opened to a broader set of activities: sea kayak, SUP and yoga-SUP and para-canoeing. We also have an active group of pensioners. We are keen to ensure that paddling can be done in a good and fun way throughout life. Every year we also organize appreciated canoe schools for beginners. The club participates in the national competitions, and took 16 medals in the last Swedish sprint kayak championship (2024) and one silver medal at the 2024 marathon world championships. Several club members are currently part of the various national teams as athletes or members of the coaching group.

Canotaje San Javier, San Javier de Loncomilla, Cile
The Loncomilla Regatta Association is a sports club that was founded on August 18, 1993, and is located in the municipality of San Javier, on Juntas Viejas del Rio Street, specifically in the park bordering the river, where our boathouse and the Loncomilla River are located, physical spaces where most of our activities take place. The association, also known as the “Canotaje San Javier” club, has as its main objective in its statutes to coordinate the activities of its members, represent them before the authorities, and promote projects for their benefit. It also aims to promote community participation in sports activities, such as training schools and canoeing workshops.
Our institution is characterized by working with athletes who have a high index of social vulnerability, and over the years, it has achieved countless successes, both in sports and academics. This club develops the social aspect, but it has also managed to place athletes on national teams for decades, winning South American and Pan American medals. Every year, it is on the podium for teams in the national federated championships in the under-14 (minors) categories, with 2023, 2024, and 2025 being the most relevant in terms of sports, as our club managed to win the national championship title.
This association is linked, from an academic perspective, with two public schools in the country, which are the foundation of our athletes. One of them is the José Manuel Balmaceda school in San Javier, and the other is the Timoteo Araya Alegría school in the municipality of Villa Alegre. Over the years, these schools have helped to promote the great work carried out by the Loncomilla Regatta Association.
Our dream is to change the lives of young boys and girls through sport, so that sport, in addition to being a good in itself, becomes a different life alternative that helps them to better orient their future and all their skills
